Comfortable lightweight summer clothing and walking shoes that are suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may also be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings. Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo-chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats and some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight. To enter the mosque area, guests must wear loose long trousers or long skirts and long sleeves. Shorts and tight and/or transparent clothing is prohibited. Women must cover their head with a scarf. The United Arab Emirates has conservative dress traditions during the Ramadan month. If you are traveling during Ramadan month, swimwear must be confined to the beach and hotel pools. Men and women should ensure shoulders and knees are covered when in public, especially in souks, shops, malls, and villages.
 
Restrictions
Participants must be able to get in and out of the vehicle. This tour is wheelchair accessible. Normal tourist photography is acceptable, but it is considered offensive to photograph Arab women. It is also courteous to ask permission before photographing men. Photographs of government buildings, police, or military installations are not allowed. Children ages 2 and younger may attend the tour free of charge, provided that they do not occupy their own seat.
